Overview
Baby Poop Diary (宝宝便便, "the app") is an iPhone app for recording photos and notes about your baby's poop. We run no servers of our own and do not collect or track any personal information. This policy explains where the app's data is stored and how you control it.
What we do not collect
- No account or sign-in, and no identity details about you or your child.
- No third-party SDKs for advertising, analytics, tracking or crash reporting.
- The app never sends your entries, photos or anything else to the developer. The developer cannot see any of your data.
Where your data is stored
Entries, photos, daily notes and the birth date are stored in the app's private storage on your device. The birth date is optional and is used only to show your baby's age on each diary day. Recording, viewing, editing and deleting all work offline.
Without iCloud sync, the app has no in-app backup, export or restore. Deleting the app usually deletes this data, and a lost or damaged device may mean it cannot be recovered. Whether an iPhone backup includes these files depends on your system settings; that is system behavior, not a backup feature of this app.
iCloud sync (optional)
iCloud sync is off by default and is used only after you turn it on in Settings. When it is on, entries, photos, daily notes and the birth date are stored through Apple's CloudKit in the private iCloud database of your current Apple Account, so they can sync between your devices and be restored on a new one.
This data is stored and protected by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. Only you, signed in with the same Apple Account, can access it; the developer cannot. Synced data uses your iCloud storage.
- Turning sync off deletes nothing. Data in iCloud and on your device is kept.
- Choosing "Delete Data in iCloud" in Settings deletes the entries and photos in iCloud. Data on your device is not affected, and sync is turned off.
- Signing out of iCloud pauses sync. Switching to a different Apple Account turns sync off and keeps the data on your device.
Camera and photos
- Camera access is used only to take poop photos. Photos you take stay in the app by default and are never saved to your photo library automatically.
- Importing uses the system photo picker. The app receives only the photos you select and cannot access the rest of your library.
- Photos saved by the app are JPEGs with no location information.
- Photos leave the app only when you choose to share or save them in the system share sheet. They go to the app you pick or to your photo library, without the text of your entries.
Observations and medical disclaimer
Mucus, texture, blood streaks, foam, smell and notes are simply what you record. The app does not judge whether anything is normal and gives no medical conclusions. If your baby seems unwell, please see a doctor.
Children's privacy
The app is meant for parents and caregivers. We collect no personal information from or about children; what you record about your child stays on your devices and in your own iCloud.

Changes to this policy
If the way the app handles data changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
